Opportunities

Ongoing on Wednesdays:

Students are invited to stop by the nursery on Wednesdays to participate in the ongoing hands-on operations. Your involvement may include watering, seed planting, weeding, transplanting, pruning, or inventorying, to name a few. Come see what we’re up to and stay as long as you like. We’d be happy to talk with you about nursery procedures and teach you some skills.

Wednesday, March 30:

Please join the nursery staff in collecting black willow cuttings and get an overview of native plant seed collection in West Haven on Wednesday afternoon, March 30. We will leave the nursery parking lot at 1:30 and will be gone a few hours. Open to three students on a first come-first served basis. Contact Beth Miller at beth@pmnrcd.org to express interest.

Wednesday and Thursday, April 20 and 21

Explore the how’s and why’s of good tree pruning practices by joining the Champlain Valley Native Plant Nursery staff in a one hour hands-on pruning workshop 2:00 – 3:00 on Wednesday afternoon, April 20 or Thursday afternoon April 21. Registration is required as space is limited. Contact Beth Miller at beth@pmnrcd.org to register.
