Lake Champlain Sea Grant is offering a short course in aquatic ecology for individuals, community groups, sport fishing industry businesses, tourism organizations, elected officials, and other interested stakeholders. The workshop will be given during the evenings of Aug. 29 and 30 at Crown Point Historic Site, Crown Point, NY. The workshop will run from 6:00-8:30 PM on August 29, and from 5:30- 9:00 PM on August 30. The programming is part of an LCSG effort to improve community resiliency in the face of climate-driven disturbance to Champlain Basin aquatic ecosystems. Course participants will learn about Lake Champlain food web dynamics, physical limnology, fishery biology, fishery management, habitat protection, invasive species and other topics. A draft agenda is available here.
The event is free, but seating is limited and pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Register online registration here.
